Cody was known for his kindness and generosity. Since he was a small child, he would always help others in need. He believed if we were all kind to each other it would have a ripple effect across the world. Cody was an avid Christian who loved God, family, and baseball. Since Cody moved to heaven, a world-wide kindness movement has been created in his honor. It is called Random Acts of Cody Kindness, or RACK. This kindness movement has its own Facebook page with the same title. The idea is people who have “RACKed” someone or been the recipient of a RACK, they could post on this page. The idea is to spread kindness acts across the world. Since its creation, the site has 77,000 members and kindness acts have been performed in all fifty states and 126 countries across the globe.
There have been other spin-offs from RACK as well. Since its inception in 2017, There is a RACK Prayer page; Cody’s Christmas Ministry where sponsor families are sought to buy Christmas gifts for families in need; and Cody’s dugout where baseball and softball equipment is donated and delivered to local teams targeting children who may not be able to afford to buy equipment.
Cody will never be forgotten and his legacy is still felt today. His kindness continues. The Cody Gollihue Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student(s) who displays similar caring and loving characteristics as Cody.
