Rob Scheibly began his career in radio while attending college at Morehead State University. He worked as an on-air announcer at WMKY in Morehead, WLAP in Lexington and WMOH in Ohio. Upon coming to the Tri-State area, he became operations manager of WKEE and WHTN in Huntington until he left to help build Hometown Broadcasting of Greenup by putting WLGC on the air. Rob’s wife, Denise Scheibly along with prior WNXT manager Rick Mayne and WLGC manager Chuck Black created the memorial endowment to provide funding for the care and assistance in the treatment of diabetes to individuals in the community with a particular focus on children in Rob’s honor.
